Potty training seems to be the subject around our house hold lately so I thought it should be on here too :)
She has started using the potty more these days but the only time she really uses it is when she is naked! She threw the biggest fit this morning because I asked her to put on her pull up or big girl panties! The tantrum lasted for about a half hour. She finally put one on but then took it off the second it got wet and is now not wearing anything. Only plus to this morning is she went in the potty twice!!! Yay for going but I'm afraid she can't be naked all the time, hopefully she'll get the hang of going potty with clothes on :) Wish us luck!
We recently welcomed a baby boy into our family and with our 2 yr old it can get pretty crazy around here. My friend recently started a blog so that she can remember all of the crazy and fun memories, I was inspired to start blogging again myself. Hope you all enjoy reading about the cute, crazy, hectic, and fun lives with these 2 sweet children!

Afraid to Sleep????
Not sure if Sky is afraid to go to sleep or what's really going on but for the last 3-4 nights she has freaked out when it comes time to go to bed. When I say freak out I mean crying for an hour or so, throwing up, the whole nine yards. She wants Mommy on the couch with her one night, Daddy in the chair with her the next night. She used to never sleep anywhere but our bed, she has now graduated to not sleeping anywhere but the family room. Well that was working just fine, we would bring her to bed once she fell asleep but now she doesn't want to sleep...ANYWHERE!! She fights sleep so much that she fell asleep standing up last night, poor girl! I don't know if she's afraid of going to sleep? I know this is a sad post but the picture is hilarious!! She started out in Karson's lap in the chair, he laid her on the couch and this is how she ended up sleeping! LOL!
I know she doesn't have PJs on but she wouldn't put them on, screamed every time Daddy tried. We love her so much but have no idea what to do with her???? Bedtime is a nightmare!

Daddy Time
Today was my first time back to work since I had little Kash. The kids got to spend quality time with Daddy tonight. For the most part the kids were great! Sky had fun putting stickers all over herself and her Daddy. Sorry Daddy didn't take any pictures :( Then of course whenever Daddy holds Kash, Sky has to be in Daddy's lap too. Karson had Kash up against his legs in a sitting up position and Kash's head not being quite that strong yet bobbed really fast from one side to the other and then Sky looked at Daddy and said "Whoa, he needs to settle down, huh??" Then Kash did it a second time and Sky looked up at her Daddy with the most serious face and said for a second time "He needs to settle down, huh?" Haha I guess she is used to us telling her that when she's being her crazy self a little too close to the baby!
Daddy and Sky got to eat otter pops while mommy was at work. Sky loves the purple ones, whenever you ask her what flavor she wants she says purple. While her and Daddy were eating them she would say over and over again, "Skylee eats purple ones, Daddy eats green ones." Haha I guess Karson only gets the green ones. Love my two kiddos so much. It felt good to be back to work in a way but I sure did think about my kids the whole time and missed them like crazy! I am glad however that Daddy got some good quality time with them!
A little side note on Kash: Today he was so alert and looking and focusing on everything I'd put in front of him. It was cute to see him get so focused. He also started cooing today, I mean really cooing, he was cooing up a storm. It was the cutest sound I have ever heard! He is growing so fast, everyday he is doing something different! I can't believe that he will be 2 months tomorrow! Time flies by so fast! I am excited to be able to start to write more things about what Kash is doing now that he is becoming more active!!

Milk Protein Allergy
Kashus has been having a hard time with formula. He has developed a rash all over his body and has been very congested with some other issues. I took him to see the doctor a little over a week ago due to his congestion and we switched him to a soy formula. After switching to the soy he developed a rash and continued to be congested so I took him back to the doctor. We now have him on a formula that has broken down the milk proteins so much that his body won't detect them and cause an allergic reaction. We just started this formula two days ago, he continues to be congested but his rash along with using hydrocortisone cream has improved. We need to watch his bowels and if they improve we can stay with this formula, but if not we need to switch to one that breaks the milk protein down even further. Our poor little guy, just glad that we have access to doctors and special formula!! Other than that he continues to be the sweetest baby boy!! He's becoming more aware of his surrounding everyday and its so fun watching him grow!
Sky continues to be a little firecracker! She is always right in Kash's face talking to him and showing him things. When ever he cries she will run up to Karson or I and say "he's hungee, he's mad!" LOL, the things she picks up on. We are always telling her to keep her fingers out of her mouth, so what does she do when the baby puts his fingers in his mouth, she tells him "fingers out of mouth, that's yucky!" If we don't get to Kash right away when he's crying, she doesn't hesitate to give him his binky! She is such a good big sister, you can see the love that she has for her little brother! WE are truly blessed to have these two!
She continues to go potty in the "big girl potty" when she feels like it. She is very stubborn and strong willed, cries and gets really upset when I try to make her sit on the potty. I have a feeling that she will figure it out on her own time, I just hope its not when she's 5, LOL. Here are some recent pics of Sky eating a cupcake! Don't ask me why she had to eat it like that but she did!

Update on Potty Training
We are still trying to potty train Skylee. I decided that it was best to not make her sit on the potty and let her go when she realizes she needs to go. She will maybe go in the potty 2 to 3 times a day. I love when she does go because she gets so excited! She will sit on the potty and then when she starts to go she gets the biggest smile on her face, then when she is done she will literally jump up and say "I did it!!" then run around the house clapping her hands and screaming! She is just an excited little girl, too bad she won't go in the potty all the time, she is still changing her own pull ups, silly girl. Will continue to work with her and hopefully by the end of the summer she will be potty trained!!
Big Sister
Skylee is such a good big sister. She is almost always gentle with Kashus. When he wakes up from his naps or in the morning she gets so excited and shouts in a high pitched voice, "baby's awake, eyes open". She's always so excited to lay by him or give him things like books and her puppy that blows bubbles. The other day Kash was in his swing and I was getting ready to take him out, Sky comes up to the swing and makes a ton of kissing noises and says "I'm kissing him", it was so cute! She loves him so much and is hardly jealous of him! We are pretty lucky to have these two and I can't wait to see how they grow up together!

Tricycles, Flowers, and Swings.
So we were playing outside with some of the kids in our apartment complex last night and Karson came over to say hi. What did he see?....Sky trying to ride all of the bikes and toys, he felt bad so what does he do? He went and bought Sky a tricycle :) She's trying hard to learn how to ride and hasn't quite gotten it yet. She pushes herself around the house saying "puddle, puddle, puddle", apparently that's what she hears when we say use the pedals, LOL. She LOVES her "bike" and its all she wants to play with!
I still have some flowers that my friend Jenn gave me for Mother's Day, Sky is always asking for some. Everyday I will cut her off a couple since they are starting to die and she'll walk around the house with them. Today she kept coming up to me and putting them in my face and saying smell, smell. She would then put them up to her nose and say "smell, yummy, yummmm, yummy". I tried to tell her that the flowers smelt pretty but she kept saying yummy, hope she didn't try to eat some of them while I wasn't looking :)
P.S. I took my eyes off of her for a minute and she had all the pedals to the flowers spread all over the hall way. We had a fun time picking them up however, I was to pick up the yellow ones and she was to pick up the green ones. She kept saying "Mommy pick up yellow ones, Skylee pick up green ones."
Kashus is such a good baby, hardly fusses. He loves to sit in his swing! I think he be content to sit in it all day if I would let him!
Can't express how much I love these two!!! Life is complete with them :)

Kash
So I have realized that I do not talk about Kash very much. Well considering he sleeps, eats, and poops there's not a whole lot going on with him. He continues to be the cutest baby boy ever!! He is starting to smile more these days, not necessarily at me or Karson but smiling non the less. He is starting to spend most of his days awake and I love those times! He is always taking things in.
He has been fussy the last 2 days because the poor guy got a sun burn on one side of his face. He must have very sensitive skin because he was only in the sun for a couple of minutes while we were walking from apartment to apartment and he had a blanket on his face for part of that walk. Other than that he is the best baby, never cries (unless he's hungry), will lay where ever you lay him, doesn't seem to mind his sister always touching his face or pulling at his arm or leg. He's just so pleasant!! We are so blessed to be given this sweet little boy!!!

Forts, Forts, and More Forts!!
Sky has been asking me over and over again to make a fort ever since we took the first one down. After her asking me a million times I decided to make a fort over her bed. Here's what I came up with....
Yes I made it in her room and over her bed. For all of you reading this and know our sweet Sky, she refuses to sleep in her bed so I came up with this idea considering she made me sleep on the family room floor 2 days in a row. I'm really hoping this will help her sleep in her own bed :) The fort is pretty big and yes I nailed the blankets to the wall, sorry apartment manager if you get mad, but desperate times call for desperate measures. Wish us luck!!! She likes it so far!

Family Guy
Not sure who is reading this and if you know what Family Guy is. Well if you are reading this post and do not know what Family Guy is I will tell you, its a cartoon for adults, has a lot of crude jokes and really not appropriate for children. If you know my husband and I, we like to watch this show and we made a mistake of watching it while Skylee was awake one night. We have Hulu and if you don't know what that is, its a place where you can watch movies and all of the latest episodes of most TV shows. On Hulu it will show a small slide show of the latest episodes and of course Family Guy is one of those shows, so what does Sky do? Out of all the shows she chooses to scream out "FAMILY GUY, FAMILY GUY, FAMILY GUY" haha, so not a show you want your two old to watch! LOL what have we done?
Potty Training
We have been trying to potty train Skylee with no luck. Some days she is really good at sitting on the potty and going a couple times a day and other days like today she wants nothing to do with it. She's really good at taking off her wet pull ups and putting dry ones on, however today she decided to take her pull up off and run around naked. Whatever that's fine with me until........she sits on the couch and pees. Well I am assuming that its pee due to the fact that there's a small round wet spot where she was sitting and when I asked her about it she said "It's durty, Skylee did it" I asked if she peed and she said "I did it!!" like it was something to be proud of! HAHA! Now I get to scrub the couch, guess it was time for them to be cleaned anyway! What a nice way to start the day. :)

Happy Mother's Day!
I felt so lucky last Mother's Day when I was celebrating with Sky and now that this Mother's Day has come I feel so blessed to have 2 children. I love my kids so much and am lucky that I get to be their MOM! I would also like to thank my Mom, we haven't always been close but since I have had kids our relationship has become stronger and she has been there to talk to when I needed it. I would also like to thank my Grandmother, she has been and is always there for me, she is a great example to how I want to be with my kids and grand kids when that day comes (very very far off!!) Here are some pics of me and the kiddos! Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms who read my post.

Make up
Sky is getting so big, too big for her own good! I was in getting ready for the day and who had to get ready too? Sky decided that it was time for her to start putting on make up and to my surprise she didn't do too bad! :) She is so good at watching others and learning what to do! Here are some pics of my little girl being all grown up!! LOVE HER!
Cupcake!
Skylee, Kashus, and I had a very nice visit from a very close friend today. Jenn and I have been friends for years, we actually followed each other and moved to Utah together. She now lives in Cottonwood Heights. She had come to see Kash for the very first time today! She was so sweet and brought me flowers and a delicious cupcake for Mother's day! After the visit was over I decided it was time to dig into that good looking cupcake and of course I had to share some with Sky. As soon as I went to grab it and take the lid off of the container Sky starts singing Happy Birthday To You!! Until this day I didn't know she had known that song, she really must be paying attention at family get together's when we sing Happy Birthday! What a cute girl!!

Forts and Slumber Parties
To start the blog off I thought I would talk about our latest adventure. I built Sky a fort yesterday and she had a blast all day! We played for hrs and of course when it came time for bed of course she decided she wouldn't sleep anywhere but her fort. So you ask yourselves, what did this mommy do? That's right, I slept on the floor inside the fort with Sky on one side and Kash on the other! We watched Tinkerbell on the nook, ate chips and cereal with marshmellows. Besides being extremely sore this morning it was a way fun night, I'm sure she won't let me take it down and we'll be sleeping in the fort again tonight!
